My Computer Is Slow

When your computer is running slowly, it can be incredibly frustrating. The first thing that you should do is try a reboot as this is something which can occur when you haven’t rebooted it recently. You should also try to free up any hard drive space, delete temporary files and scan for viruses.

There are many things that can contribute to a slow computer so if you need further assistance make sure to contact us.

My Computer Is Not Turning On

If your computer is not turning on, then you should try to make sure that the power cord is plugged in properly to both the hardware and the socket.

If you are using a power strip, then you should check for a circuit breaker as this could be causing the problem. Press the reset button on the breaker and this might solve the problem.

My Computer Is Frozen

If your computer screen freezes when you are using it then your first step should be to turn it off and on again. Hopefully, when it has been rebooted, it will work just fine.

If it freezes again when you turn it back on, then your computer might have some further issues.

My Computer Monitor Won’t Turn On

If your computer monitor won’t switch on, then you should make sure to check all of the connections in the back of the monitor. If the screen has gone black, then it could be that your monitor has gone to ‘sleep’ and so you should press some keys on the keyboard or move your mouse and this can wake it up.

If this doesn’t work, then you might have a more serious problem.

My Computer Monitor Says No Signal

When you get a ‘no signal input’ message on your monitor then you might find that checking the connections in the back of the monitor and the back of the computer can make a difference. Try to disconnect all of the cables one by one to check that everything is in correctly.

Some cables might have screw ends so you will need to make sure that these are in fully. This should solve the problem.

My Computer Monitor Is Upside Down

There are some keyboard shortcuts that can rotate your screen to get it back to normal if it has flipped unexpectedly. Try Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow, Ctrl + Alt + Down Arrow, Ctrl + Alt + Left Arrow, or Ctrl + Alt + Right Arrow. If your screen rotates then you should continue until it is back to normal.

If this doesn’t solve the problem, then you should right-click then choose ‘graphics options’ then go to ‘hot keys’ and then enable this. After this, you can use the keyboard combinations to turn your computer screen around.

I Can’t Get Into Windows Safe Mode

To get into Windows Safe Mode, you should restart your computer. During this, press and hold your ‘F8’ key and you will be presented with the ‘Windows Advanced Options Menu’.

Here, you can use the arrows to choose Safe Mode and press Enter to start it.

How To Delete A Windows File Without Recycle

When deleting a file, simply press ‘shift+delete’ on your keyboard with the file selected. This will permanently delete your file without sending it to the recycle bin.

How To Update Windows 10

If your computer is not set to automatically update, then you can easily do this manually by heading to ttp://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.

I Can’t Send Or Receive Emails

First, check if your computer is able to access the internet as issues with this will prevent you from sending or receiving emails. Then, make sure that your internet email server and your network email server are not encountering issues.

You can find this out by contacting your network administrator or your ISP.

My Email Attachments Aren’t Coming Through

If your email attachments aren’t coming through, then it could be because your mailbox is too full. Make sure that you have enough storage space to receive the email from the sender.

If this is not the issue, then it could be that this particular file extension is blocked by your email provider. Check with your email provider about this.

My Email Account Has Been Hacked

If your email account has been hacked, then you should change your password and let your contacts know that you have been hacked. Try to update your computer’s security and anti-virus programs to prevent this from happening again.

Consider adopting two-factor authentication and get in touch with us if you need further assistance.

My Keyboard Has Stopped Working

If your keyboard stops working, first make sure that it is plugged in. Then, check that the USB port is working with another device. You might then need to adjust your keyboard settings and reinstall your keyboard driver.

If this still doesn’t work, then consider updating your keyboard and USB drivers.
