Cyber Essentials Scheme

At Novus IT we take cyber security very seriously which is why we have partnered with the Cyber Essentials scheme.

It’s a leading initiative for companies of all shapes and sizes to let their clients know that they are taking the necessary security controls. We can help you get your certification.

About the Cyber Essentials Scheme

The UK Government launched a “10 Steps to Cyber Security” initiative that then evolved to “Small Businesses: what you need to know about Cyber Security”. This was to prompt businesses to think about whether or not they are managing cyber risks effectively. The Government made it clear that top level management needs to ensure that they are assessing the possible risks.

It was found that there were a lot of security measures weren’t in place for a lot of organisations which is when they finalized their Cyber Essentials Scheme. This gives business owners the confidence they need to reduce risks and threats to security.

Why Should you Achieve a Certification?

As part of the Cyber Essentials Scheme, you will be privy to 5 security controls that could potentially prevent around 80% of cyber-attacks. This will arm you with the protection needed to be safe in the knowledge that you are safe from attacks and to focus on other elements of your business.

On top of this, the certification has resulted in enhanced business efficiency overall, improved productivity and a reduction in costs. Having this certification can also reduce your insurance premiums.

Also helps with GDPR procedures.
